Available data storage within Salesforce will soon be increased from 1 GB to 10 GB. According to the release notes, the roll-out is scheduled to begin in late March 2019. This change will apply to Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic, and all versions of the Salesforce app in Contact Manager, Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.

Salesforce users can get a free analysis of their current storage usage with Storage Helper. This app can help you keep your org free of unwanted data by safely deleting it on a schedule, after an export, or manually so you don’t have to worry about buying extra storage. It also helps keep your org free of clutter, ensuring clean and organized data.
