Demo Org Setup

Installation

Download Data Quality Helper from AppExchange (free)
To access premium edition (unlimited validation and duplicate rules), send the Organization ID to support@passagetech.com with subject line "SE demo org" and we'll help set up the org with Data Quality Helper Premium.

Validation Rule Creation

1. Open up the Data Quality Helper Application from the app launcher.
2. Click on the Data Quality Helper Configuration tab.
3. Click on the ‘Validation Rule Configuration’ option.
4. Click the ‘New Rule’ button.
5. Populate the rule name input field with something like ‘Account Missing Phone Number’.
   1. (optional) populate a description for what the validation rule should achieve.
6. Search for the Account object in the ‘Validation Object’ picklist and select it.
7. Populate the Custom Warning Message text input field with something like ‘If you are able to collect a phone number for the account please do so. If you are unable to collect that information you may continue with the save.’
   1. You may format the custom warning message any way you would like to make it look desirable. Feel free to customize the font style/color/size and background color of the warning message.
8. Once the configuration looks good click the ‘Next’ button.
9. In the ‘Validation Field’ picklist search and select the phone field.
10. In the ‘Criteria Operator’ picklist search for and select the equals operator.
11. Leave the ‘Comparison Value’ input field blank and click the ‘Add Criteria’ button.
12. Click the ‘Save’ button and wait until you see a message stating that the rule has been created.

Duplicate Rule Creation

1. Open up the Data Quality Helper Application from the app launcher.
2. Click on the Data Quality Helper Configuration tab.
3. Click on the ‘Duplicate Rule Configuration’ option.
4. Click the ‘New Rule’ button.
5. Populate the ‘Rule Name’ input field with something like ‘Accounts With Similar Names’.
   1. (optional) populate a description for what the duplicate rule should achieve.
6. Search for the Account object in the ‘Object’ picklist and select it.
7. Once the configuration looks good click the ‘Next’ button.
8. In the ‘Criterion Type’ input search for and select the ‘Check Field Value Similarity’ option.
9. Adjust the ‘Similarity Percentage’ sliding bar to 70 percent.
10. Search for and select the ‘Name’ field in the field picklist to the right of the ‘Similarity Percentage’ slider.
11. Click the ‘Add to Criteria’ button.
12. Click the ‘Save’ button and wait until you see a message stating that the rule has been created.

Post-Setting Configuration: Enable functionality for edit and creation of records

Once the desired Data Quality Helper settings have been created, the default buttons for the settings’ objects will need to be updated to leverage the Data Quality Helper lightning component. Please Note: The DQH_Upsert Lightning Web Component does not support Task and Event objects.

1. Go into Setup (in the lightning experience)
2. Search for and select the ‘Object Manager’
3. Select the object that you have created a setting for. In this case it is the Account object.
4. Select the ‘Buttons, Links, and Action’ section.
5. Find the buttons you would like to override to leverage the Data Quality Helper functionality.
   1. If you would like to run the Data Quality Helper settings on creation of a record, select the dropdown menu to the right of the ‘New’ button and click ‘Edit’.
   2. If you would like to run the Data Quality Helper settings on edit of a record, select the dropdown menu to the right of the ‘Edit’ button and click ‘Edit’.
6. Update both the ‘Lightning Experience Override’ and ‘Mobile Override’ sections to leverage the ‘DQH:DQH_Upsert’ Lightning Component. (see image below for an example)

Repeat the above steps 3-6 for each object that a Data Quality Helper rule has been created for.

Additionally, consult the Data Quality Helper Admin Guide if you would like to enable this functionality:

• Add the ‘Data Quality Helper Record Detail Info’ component to the lightning record page, to display warning messages to users viewing the record detail page for a record that encounters Data Quality Helper validation/dupe warnings
• Add the ‘Data Quality Helper Issues’ component to the home page layout, to let users see multiple records that have encountered data quality issues
