Milestones PM+ Premium Edition - New Features

• Enhanced Time Tracking for Premium Edition
  • Weekly Resource Utilization By Employee: The Time Entry grid now allows an organization to track the total hours for the entire work week for all time entries regardless of object that time is being entered against. This allows for an organization to ensure that each of its employees are working a full 40-hour work week. Ensuring 40-hour work weeks means that overall team productivity will improve. Additionally, utilization and realization %’s for professional service / delivery teams will be optimized. This new feature is available in the Milestones PM+ Premium Edition.

  • Added a new junction object “Task Resources” connecting Resources and Project Tasks with Lookup Fields allowing multiple resources to be assigned to a task.

• Gantt Chart Enhancements for Premium Edition
  • Drag and Drop Improvements
    • A Custom Setting was added to disable drag and drop on the Gantt Chart.
    • Improved visibility of the colors of the bars on the Gantt Chart for shorter Milestones and Tasks by making the drag and drop black bars transparent.
    • Gantt Chart’s draggable task bars now snaps to the grid when being dragged.
    • Added loading effect & auto refresh after each move for drag and drop.
      • Only the Gantt Chart region will refresh instead of the entire page.
  • Printable Gantt Improvements
    • Added a “Landscape” checkbox on the Print Gantt page to place the Gantt Chart horizontally.
    • The Gantt Chart will now display in whole on the Print Gantt page and no longer has scroll bars.
    • A slider bar was added on the Print Gantt chart page to allow scaling the Gantt Chart to a lower size to customize the fit on the printed page. 
    • The print page now defaults to display the entire Gantt Chart instead of only the first page.
    • The Printed Gantt Chart now aligns to the corner of the page and prints without extra margins.
• Manage Project Plan Enhancements
  • Manage Project Plan’s columns are now customizable via three field sets named “Managed Project Plan Fields” on Project, Milestone, and Task to which Custom Fields may be added.
  • Increased the description field’s text length from 5,000 to 10,000.
  • The Manage Project Plan component is now global which allows for more customizations.
    • Example: The component can be embedded on any page.
  • Added columns for Actual Start, Actual End Date, and Notes.
• Enhanced Time Tracking for Premium Edition
  • Added a “Project” column on the Time Entry tab for Milestones and Project Tasks.
  • Improved responsiveness for the Time Entry interface enhancing the user experience when switching between desktop, laptop, ipad and mobile.
  • Weekend days are now highlighted on the Time Entry grid. 
  • The “Take Control” button on the Time Entry grid now only shows up if the appropriate Permission Set is assigned to the viewing User.
  • Time Entry Approval tab’s User lookup now searches automatically after the user stops typing. The page refreshes, and any available weeks needing review will be displayed.
  • Task Resource and Time Incurred by Resource Assignment updates will run automatically post install updating records with values from deprecated fields to the new fields. 
    • Reminders to update the page layouts with the new field and to check the jobs, and manually run them if need be from the Getting Started page have been added.
• Build Internal Resource Pool for Premium Edition
  • Added a Custom Setting (Only Create Resource For SF License) to skip automatic Resource creation for Users with non-Salesforce licenses. (Premium Edition).

Milestones PM+ Free Edition - Performance and Usability Improvements

• Gantt Chart Enhancements for Free Edition
  • The Gantt Chart item names column is now dynamic and trims to the item with the longest name.
  • The Gantt Chart header now freezes so that when scrolling the column headers remain visible. 
  • Changing the Gantt Chart view no longer refreshes the entire page.
• Resource Enhancements for Free Edition
  • Added “Resource” field to the following report types:
    • Programs_with_Projects_Milestones_and_Tasks.reportType
    • Projects_with_milestones_with_tasks_and_times.reportType
    • Projects_with_milestones_with_tasks_and_logs.reportType
    • Projects_with_milestones_with_tasks.reportType
• Schedule Management Enhancements for Free Edition
  • Exclude Weekend Work
    • New Tasks or Milestones created will have exclude weekend work checked automatically when it has been selected at the parent level.
    • Enabled Task level shift to exclude weekends if the “Exclude Weekend Work” field is checked.
    • A Project will only expand (i.e. duration gets longer) when the “exclude_weekend_work__c” is changed from unchecked to checked, using the Project Configuration page; otherwise it only moves the Project.
    • Will now move Projects to today on import for Projects with “Exclude Weekend Work” checked, excluding weekends automatically.
    • “forceExpandWeekend => true” can be added to the parameter map for users who want to import a Project with “exclude_weekend_work__c” checked using the project creation trigger, and then always expand the Project.
    • Exclude Weekend Work now applies to the Milestone level as well during a manual shift.
• Batch Project Creation Enhancements for Free Edition
  • Improved the creation of multiple Projects at once by enabling the Project creation trigger to process multiple source record updates in a single transaction and create Project for each, asynchronously.
• Milestones Enhancements for Free Edition
  • The Project Name lookup field will now automatically be set when creating a Successor Milestone from the Milestone page’s related list.
• Tasks Enhancements for Free Edition
  • Tasks are no longer restricted under a single Milestone and single Project.
  • Tasks now can be re-parented to different Milestones.
  • Added more available fields in the Task Mass Edit and the Task Notification field sets.
• Summary Page
  • Items on the Summary page can now be sorted via a custom setting.
  • The summary page now can display Programs instead of Projects via a custom setting. 
     

Bug Fixes

• Fixed issues with the Project Configuration Page, Drag and Drop and Gantt Chart rows related to Internet Explorer.
• Fixed issues with Tasks and expanding Projects in regards to Exclude Weekend Work and Date Shifting functionality.
