The Trailblazer Community is a great place to post questions, get feedback, share ideas, and learn from other Trailblazers.

Of course our Support team is also available to answer your questions, but this community resource plays a key role.

With more than 30,000 users and 505 AppExchange Reviews, Rollup Helper is a powerful community. And we love hearing about the creative ways you are using Rollup Helper to maximize their efficiency when you leave a review.

However, sometimes you just need to find out how you can do something, like exporting rollups.

Enter the Trailblazer Community. Whether you have a question or have a use case you’d like to share, you can inspire other Trailblazers to use Rollup Helper in a new way. Following are examples of questions that have also helped other users expand their use of Rollup Helper.

Is there a maximum number of records that Rollup Helper can process?

Recently, a user posted a question on Trailhead about the max number of records Rollup Helper can process for each batch. This was a great question.

The answer is that there isn’t a limit to the total number of records Rollup Helper can process for an object, since batch processing can process ANY amount of records in Salesforce, piece by piece in small groups. Rollup Helper by default processes 400 records per batch, and there is no limit to how many records it can update on the target object.

Passage Technology’s Operations Manager Jacob Blair explains, “There’s a 50,000 query row limit in Salesforce, which can be hit if too many child records need to be rolled up. This is where Rollup Helper can hit limits due to large data sets such as how many child records it needs to rollup per parent. For example, with the default child record scope of 400, this means that 125 parents can be rolled up, and when you multiply 400 by 125, it equals 50,000.”

Can you create a new rollup that's based on another rollup field?

Another Rollup Helper user recently asked about this situation. Creating a Rollup Helper setting that uses the target field of another Rollup Helper setting as its source field is a great use case that overcomes Salesforce limitations. “You just need to have both settings running in real-time, and you will be able to summarize data across multiple objects,” Jacob added.
