Problem

You need an easy method for reporting and planning around renewals without running a multi-object report.

Solution

Create a rollup to aggregate the most recent Contract end date to Account.

The first step is to create a new custom field (using Date as the data type) on the Account object. You can name the field "Renewal Date."

Create the rollup:

  • Select Account as the Destination Object
  • Select "Renewal Date" as the Target Field
  • Select Contract as the Child Object
  • Use the standard AccountId Relationship Field
  • Select Maximum as the Rollup Type
  • Select Contract End Date as the Source Field
  • A New Filter is optional
  • Save the filter, then Save and Run the rollup
Most recent contract end date rollup

You can use this information to send email alerts to customer success teams or clients 30/60/90 days in advance to remind customers of their renewal.
