Tapping into Untapped Team Productivity

2026/03/25

Factors that impact team dynamics and solutions that can help.

There are many factors that impact team dynamics, including having shared goals, building trust, and creating an environment that fosters open communication.

But what makes a team truly cohesive and effective? The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) article, Unlocking Team Potential: Effective Collaboration Overcomes Common Pitfalls offers insights. “‘How team members relate to each other and collaborate across boundaries such as functional lines, physical distance, or expertise is key to optimizing team effectiveness,’ said Rob Cross.” Cross is a professor of global leadership at Babson College, and a SVP of research at i4cp.

Having an effective team is also a key element to overall organizational success. “Yet research shows that poor collaboration and misaligned individual and team behaviors are resulting in significant productivity and performance losses,” adds the SHRM article.

“Research from i4cp shows an average 39% productivity loss among teams due to poor collaboration. That loss jumps to 60% for the least effective teams,” explains the SHRM article.

Ask PT About Displaying Products From an Account’s Opportunities

2023/05/17

Dear PT,

When viewing an Account page in Salesforce®, our company’s users would like to see a list view of the Opportunity Products associated with the Account’s various Opportunities. Is there an easy way to do this?

Ask PT About Comparing Year-Over-Year Revenue to Date in Salesforce

2023/04/11

Dear PT,

Comparisons can be an important factor in forecasting. At our company, we’d like to compare this partial year’s revenue Opportunity total for an Account to the same time period in the previous year. Are we going up, down, or flat? Salesforce® doesn't do this out of the box. Can Rollup Helper help us?

Ask PT About Avoiding the Creation of Duplicate Records in Salesforce

2023/03/29

Dear PT,

At our company, when users create a Salesforce® Contact, a search is done to find if the related Account is already in our records. If they don’t find an Account, then one is created. This manual process sometimes results in duplicate Accounts being created, with identical information or differing information. Data quality suffers, relationship management is affected, and then time and resources are wasted fixing the problems. There has to be a better way.

Ask PT About Using Automation to Assign Leads to Accounts in Salesforce

2023/01/25

Dear PT,

Like many Salesforce® users, we have to manually assign Leads to their related Account. Of course, this opens up the potential for errors. It would be nice if we could automate this process and then notify the correct salesperson about the new Lead. Any thoughts on how we could easily do this?

Ask PT About Reducing Response Time with New Leads in Salesforce

2022/09/23

Dear PT,

Buyer expectations are rapidly evolving. Now you can measure buyer intent in nearly real-time. However, at our company, our new Lead response time is often measured in days, not hours. Studies show that best practices require a response measured in minutes. Any ideas on how we can extend Salesforce® capabilities to make this internal improvement?

Ask PT About Viewing Account Information on a Lead in Salesforce

2022/07/12

Dear PT,

With Salesforce® Contacts, you can view their Account information. But at our company, we like to classify leads as Leads, not as Contacts. But Leads don’t display Account information. How can we extend Salesforce to get this functionality?
